Works. Time will tell I suppose.
Had a plastic tube over the capillary tube already but I went ahead and swapped it because it was a touch shorter than the original. Took a day to get temp back to regulated but been working fine the last month so far. I put a bluetooth temp logger in both fridge and freezer to monitor it which I should have done long ago for peace of mind; I can even tell when the door was opened. For ten bucks to replace the thermostat, if I get a couple years out of it then it will be a great deal. Much better than over $1200 for a new fridge.

Fixed our problem!
We had water leaking from somewhere inside, and subsequently an ice buildup on the inside floor, beneath the cool-select pantry, in our Samsung refrigerator. Following an internet search we quickly discovered this was a common issue. We found a couple of excellent YouTube videos that walked us through the replacement of both parts in this package, and since we weren’t sure which part was the culprit (and both parts were being sold together) we changed both. We did have quite a bit more trouble pulling the back wall of our fridge off than appeared in the video, as the styrofoam backing behind the wall was wedged in extremely tightly. We had the exact tool set recommended in the video, but as a result of the necessary pulling and rocking to pull the back wall away, a few small pieces of the styrofoam actually broke away. We were able to fit those pieces back in place with a little Gorilla tape. The actual parts replacement, after removing the back wall, was pretty straightforward. I would suggest having 4 hands available when removing and replacing the back wall, in order to disconnect the electrical clips without damaging the wiring or clips. Anyway, no more leaking water/ice buildup! By the way, the included defrost sensor did not look exactly like the one we replaced (different color sensor and the wire was longer), but we crossed our fingers and installed it anyway and everything seems to be working properly as far as we can tell, and it’s been a couple of weeks now. I am glad it works
I have a stainless steel ge profile refrigerator and it is 18 years old. It started freezing my milk and eggs. I noticed it was running non stop. I removed the thermostat probe WR09X0521 and upon research it is discontinued and nobody has a new one. So my only two options were dump the fridge or find an alternative part. I decided in trying this part a try. I had to do minor modification on the screw holes. Slightly off from original one but with perseverance I drilled 2 new holes, bolted the part and it did fit very much like the original. Working really well. My fridge is cooling as intended and not running all times.
