Another great exit game. Just wish there were more for kids, we’ve played them all to death!

I have played dozens of escape room box set games. All of the ones prior to this one have been more oriented toward adults whereas this particular box is geared toward the whole family. There are two mysteries in this box, The Mystery at Meanstone Manor and The Caper at Candy Castle. The side of the box says that the contents are appropriate for ages 8 and up. This seems right because a young person playing it will need to be able to focus on the game for a while. The listed duration of a game (remember, there are two) is between 45 and 75 minutes. That’s a long time for a child but the game is interesting enough to hold their attention. One thing to keep in mind, you can and will be using all of the items in the box, meaning you may fold or cut play pieces. This game is only meant to be played once so feel free to fold, spindle and mutilate the contents when needed.I’ve played other “Exit” games by Kosmos as well as yearly doing their mystery advent calendars. The puzzles in this set are much more family oriented instead of being hard or cryptic. This is a great set to experience the exit room concept while including the whole family. This would also be a great way to try the boxed exit room idea and see if it’s something you would enjoy while not bogging you down in super hard puzzles. Who knows, this might be the gateway game that opens up a whole new hobby.

My family and I have not actually played the game yet, however, I have read the instructions and reviewed the pieces within the box. The instructions were clear and easy to understand. I know we will be able to play without any hiccups. And it sounds really fun! I love escape games and I really love that this one can be played with a younger audience so my grandkids will be able to join in. The design of the game is really fun with the 2 completely different styles of houses to work with. I really look forward to our next game night! The instructions alone has me really wanting to get a game going! I thought the price of the game was fair and comparable to other games of this type.

EXIT games have been a fan favorite in our household for years now, but we’ve only ever had the opportunity to play the adult versions, so I was super excited to find a family version. Even as adults, we’ve struggled with the level 1 and 2 games, so letting kids join in didn’t seem like a great idea. This is a great way to get kids involved in one of our favorite games. The two games in one was also a great find. As much as we love the adult versions, having only one use/play through is a bummer, so this version was a great upgrade! Would absolutely recommend this to puzzle lovers or anyone looking to experiment with an at home escape room.

We have played the first of the 2 games in this box. The game was easy to set up, and easy to play. There were some funny parts to the game which was different than a normal exit game for adults. Our children, 13 and 11, had a great time with the first game. They probably could have very easily played without the assistance of the adults. It was very age appropriate. It took us about 45 minutes to make it through the first game.
