It starts the whistling in just 2 minutes. Making it a bit confusing when to switch off the gas knob. Ideally one should keep the gas knob on for 8 mins and then let it cool down for another 5 mins

Broken center stand
The product was good except the center holding stand for the idli plates was sub standard . The lifting knob was received broken .

Not worth the premium price
Reviewing after 6 months of purchase.The space between the plates is very less. The idlis stick to the upper plate while rising.Plus the last plate should have been at more height. Have to keep it empty otherwise the idli in that plate gets all watery.The whistle is very loud & irritating. Have removed it and now use a rolled cotton cloth in its place.I don’t know if it’s the cooking method or a problem with the product but the base turned copperish colour and there are spots inside the cookerOn the plus side the quality of steel is heavy.Expected better from this brand

Tried a few other brands available online here in the UK before buying this. Vinod idli maker seems to be of far better quality than the others. However, the idlis it make are quite small and also the whistle noise is too high if the vessel is fully tightened.

I recently ordered an idli cooker listed on Amazon… However, the product I received differs significantly from what was advertised. Here are the key discrepancies..• Handle Design:Advertised: Features rounded, ergonomic black handles.Received: The cooker has different, more squared handles, suggesting a different design or brand…• Lid Design:Advertised: The lid has a steam vent and a top knob with a circular grip…Received: The lid is different in shape, lacks proper steam release features, and looks cheaper in build.• Idli Plates:Functional Issue: The plates have multiple unnecessary holes all over, causing the idli batter to fall through and making them unusable.Quality Concern: The plates have visible scratch marks and appear poorly finished..• Condition of the Cooker:The cooker itself has scratch marks and visible black stains, making it look used or previously handled..The overall build feels cheap and not as advertised..
